It’s never too early to start preparing for your Brazilian butt lift, also known as a BBL. Once you’ve selected your BBL cosmetic surgeon and have a date in the books, the next step is to start getting ready for your big day. Keep these tips in mind to help you prep for your BBL surgery and maximize your Brazilian butt lift results.
1. Don’t Focus on Dieting
While you’ll want to be close to your target weight before getting your Brazilian butt lift, this isn’t the time to be crash dieting. Fuel your body with the nutrients it needs to heal as efficiently as possible after your procedure. It’s also important to drink plenty of water and minimize the amount of sugary drinks you consume.
2. Get Your Recovery Space Ready
Most people take anywhere from 1 to 2 weeks off work to recover from their BBL surgery. During this time, you’ll need to do plenty of resting and relaxing at home. So prepare yourself a comfy recovery space where you can comfortably lounge on your side or stomach — you won’t be able to put pressure on your buttocks while you recover.
A donut pillow can help you sit for short periods of time after your BBL, once your doctor gives you the okay.
3. Enlist Extra Help
Arrange for someone to drive you to and from your appointment and help you around the house for the first few days. If you have young kids or pets, line up some extra help caring for them while you heal.
4. Ask Your Cosmetic Surgeon for a Checklist
While it doesn’t hurt to research cosmetic surgery recovery tips, it’s best to get specific instructions from your surgeon so you know exactly how to care for yourself and get the most out of your recovery. Every cosmetic surgeon will have different protocols, so make sure you ask yours for a BBL preparation checklist. This list might include things like getting prescriptions filled early and what to wear on the day of your surgery.
